MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Day two of the Arena Grand Prix at Minneapolis continued at the Golden Gophers home pool. Today's events included the 200 fly, 50 free, 100 back, 500 free, 200 breast and 800 free relay.

Senior Devin Ste. Marie kicked things off for the Gophers finishing sixth in the 200 fly with a time of 1:57.14. Freshman Danielle Nack picked up eighth with 1:57.94. Tori Simenec followed for ninth place (1:57.46).

Former Golden Gopher Kyler Van Swol took home the silver in the men's 200 fly, finishing with a time of 1:45.35. Minnesota's Ben Bravence (1:47.98) and Andrew Hartbarger (1:48.38) finished fifth and sixth consecutively. Nick Orf finished strong for the eighth spot at 1:48.65. In the B final, Brandon Hatanaka finished for 12th (1:48.50), with Viktor Bjoerk and Alex Cisneros for 15th and 16th.

Senior Becca Weiland powered through the women's 50 freestyle, finishing with a time of 22.56. Blake Zeiger placed eleventh with a 22.98. Gophers Danielle Nack(23.16) and Heidi Busack (23.24) finished for 15th and 16th.

Alum Derek Toomey placed fifth in the men's 50 free, finishing with a time of 19.65. Golden Gopher Ian Gordon finished 16th with a time of 20.78.

Minnesota's Katelyn Holmquist (55.37) and Brooke Zeiger (56.15) finished in 14th and 16th place in the women's 100 backstroke.

Sophomore Daryl Turner finished strong in the 100 back with a time of 47.62 for fifth place. Senior Chris Johnson swam a 49.07 for eighth, rounding out the Championship heat. Carl Newenhouse (49.42) and Noah Busch (50.38) picked up 13th and 16th consecutively.

Four Gophers stocked the women's 500 free. Freshman Brooke Zeiger took home the silver in the event, finishing with a time of 4:39.50. Kiera Janzen hit the wall after Olympian Shannon Vreeland with a time of 4:42.93 for fifth place. Sam Harding (4:46.44) and Brooke Lorentzen (4:46.48) finished seventh and eighth. In the B final, Jessica Plant finished with a 4:44.65 for tenth, followed by Maddie Hoch for 13th (4:49.36).

Senior captain CJ Smith picked up sixth in the men's 500 freestyle, finishing with a time of 4:24.07.

Kierra Smith decisively claimed the 200 breaststroke with a 2:05.12 for first. Smith broke the Minnesota school record twice today, first in prelims, then in finals.

Freshman Conner McHugh finished tenth in the men's 200 breast with a 1:57.33. Jakub Maly followed with a 2:00.07.

Similar to last night, the Golden Gophers closed the night placing first in both the men's and women's 800 free relay. Brooke Zeiger, Blake Zeiger, Maddie Hoch and Isabel Wyer finished with a time of 7:14.09. A 6:34.99 did it on the men's side, Carl Newenhouse, CJ Smith, Erick Huft and Ben Bravence combined for the win.

The 2014 Arena Grand Prix at Minneapolis will finish up tomorrow with prelims at 9:00 a.m. CT., followed by finals at 6:00 p.m. CT.
