BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Minnesota women's gymnasts Lindsay Mable and Hanna Nordquist compete at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Individual Event Finals at 2 p.m. on Sunday after they each placed in the top four on one event in Friday in the first session at the national semifinal at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Ala.

Mable, who competed in the all-around competition, will compete on vault and Nordquist will compete on the balance beam, the only event she tried her hand at Friday afternoon.

By qualifying for Sunday's competition, both student-athletes earned First Team All-America honors for the second year in a row. Mable a Second Team All-America honoree on the floor. She was a First Team All-American on the floor and in the all around and was a Second Team All-American in the regular season.

Mable, who shared a rotation with Illinois alongside Nordquist, started with a 9.800 on the uneven bars, tying for 24th. She then took 41st on the beam with a 9.250. Nordquist, who notched a 9.900 to qualify for the nation competition on the beam, posted the same score to tie for second at the semifinal session and move on the final.

Mable, who finished with a 38.850 all-around score, finished strong by registering a 9.900 on both the floor and vault. The floor score placed her seventh and the vault score advanced her to Sunday by putting her in a tie for second.

Last year, both Gophers reached the NCAA Championships Individual Event Finals. Nordquist tied for second place on balance beam and Mable placed fourth on the floor exercise and tied for fifth on vault at to earn First Team All-America honors.

Sunday's individual event finals can be seen live on ESPN3.com. The NCAA's team season will conclude Saturday with the Super Six.
