BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The NCAA women's gymnastics season came to a close Sunday afternoon with the national individual event finals at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Ala. Sophomore Gopher gymnasts Lindsay Mable and Hanna Nordquist competed on one event apiece for the Maroon and Gold.

Mable placed fifth on the vault, scoring a 9.9333, while Nordquist came in 16th on the balance beam with a 9.3000 score. By advancing to Sunday's competition both student-athletes earned First Team All-America honors.

Mable also received Second Team All-America honors on the floor after a 2014 campaign in which she garnered First Team All-America laurels on the floor and in the all-around and second-team recognition in the regular season.

Nordquist tied for second place on balance beam and Mable tied for fourth on floor exercise and tied for fifth on vault a year ago in the same event in Los Angeles.

The Gophers were Big Ten co-champions in the regular season for the second-consecutive year and came in third at the ensuing Big Ten championships. Minnesota placed third at the Minneapolis Regional at the Sports Pavilion to finish the season with a team record of 27-6.
