MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) - The Gopher Hockey program and head coach Don Lucia have signed seven Minnesotans to National Letters of Intent during the 2015-16 season.
The newest crop of Gophers include Joey Marooney (Chaska, Minn.), Luke Notermann (Blaine, Minn.), Ryan Lindgren (Minneapolis, Minn.), Sam Rossini (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), Ryan Zuhlsdorf (Edina, Minn.), Garrett Wait (Edina, Minn.) and Rem Pitlick (Plymouth, Minn.).
Joey Marooney | Forward | Chaska, Minn. | Current Team: Green Bay (USHL)
Hockey
Skated for the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL during the 2015-16 season • tallied 33 points (18 goals, 15 assists) in 58 regular-season games and added one goal in four playoff games this season • split the 2014-15 USHL season between the Sioux Falls Stampede, the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and the Green Bay Gamblers • totaled 112 regular-season USHL games with 54 points (25 goals, 29 assists) • skated with current Gopher Brent Gates Jr. with the Gamblers • previously spent four years at Holy Family Catholic and totaled 153 points (64 goals, 89 assists) in 129 career games.

Skated for the Austin Bruins in the NAHL and Blaine High School during the 2015-16 season • skated in 12 regular-season NAHL games for the Bruins with two goals and an assist • added two assists in seven NAHL playoff games • served as team captain for Blaine in 2015-16 - his fourth season with the team • tied for the team lead and finished tied for third in the state with 78 points (28 goals, 50 assists) • led the team and finished third in the state with 50 assists.
