Mead Makes International Debut in Beijing

BEIJING (GopherSports.com) - Eight-time Gophers All-American and nine-time Big Ten champion Hassan Mead finished 15th in the 10,000 meters finals on Saturday at the 2015 IAAF World Championships as the University of Minnesota alum made his international debut with USA Track & Field.
The Minneapolis native clocked a 28:16.30 in the race, closing out his first year of running the 10,000 meters as a professional. In addition to his World Championships berth, Mead finished third at the 2015 USATF Outdoor Championships in June while he also ran a 3:59.89 mile at the 2015 FloTrack Throwdown in preparation for his trip to China.
