A late 3-pointer and last-second rebound by Mikayla Bailey sealed a 78-76 victory for Minnesota (11-6, 3-3 Big Ten) over Indiana (10-8, 2-4 Big Ten). Rachel Banham scored 24 points and moved into third on the Big Ten career scoring list in the game. Shayne Mullaney, Carlie Wagner and Allina Starr also scored in double figures. Mullaney scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half.

The Gophers were behind 76-75 when Bailey made a 3-pointer in the corner. Indiana took timeout with 17.7 seconds left as Minnesota led 78-76. Annalese Lamke grabbed a rebound off the Hoosiers' missed shot and was fouled. Bailey got an offensive rebound on Lamke's second free throw and the Gophers ran out the clock.

Bailey had seven points in the game. Banham, who was one rebound shy of a double-double, brought her career scoring total to 2,581. She passed Ohio State's Katie Smith on the conference all-time list.

The game featured 10 ties and 12 lead changes. Minnesota outrebounded Indiana 39-35. The shooting was nearly even, as the Gophers connected 46.3 percent of the time and Indiana 45.9 percent.

Tyra Buss and Kym Royster led the Hoosiers with 17 points each.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter: Banham had seven points for the Gophers, and Buss had seven for Indiana in the opening quarter. A jumper by Mullaney and a 3-pointer by Banham gave the Gophers brief leads in the quarter, but Indiana led 21-16 at the end on the strength of 10-of-18 shooting, to the Gophers' 6-of-18. The Hoosiers scored 18 of their first-quarter points in the paint.

Second Quarter: Minnesota and Indiana traded the lead a few times at the start of the quarter before the Gophers took hold of it for the rest of the half. The Gophers shot 12-of-15 in the quarter. Back-to-back Starr bank shots and a Mullaney jumper pushed the lead to 39-29 with under three minutes left. A three-point play by Jenn Anderson and a runner by Buss at the buzzer cut the lead to 43-38. Banham scored 13 points in the second to make her halftime total 20.

Third Quarter: Each team scored 20 points in the quarter, and neither led by more than five. Mikayla Bailey drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Gophers a 63-58 edge going into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter: Joanna Hedstrom's 3-pointer early in the fourth made it 67-60. The Gophers had another seven-point lead, 71-64, before the Hoosiers closed the gap to 73-72. Banham made a pair of free throws with 1:25 remaining to make it 75-72. Then Anderson scored for Indiana. Karlee McBride made a fastbreak layup following a Gopher miss, and Indiana led 76-75 with 38.5 seconds remaining. Bailey made her go-ahead triple following a timeout.
