AMES - The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team continued their undefeated streak as they claimed their eighth victory of the season with defeating the Iowa State Cyclones (195.075) and the Air Force Falcons (190.200) with a final tally of 195.525.
Senior Lindsay Mable claimed event titles on Vault (9.875), Uneven Bars (9.900), Beam (9.900) and the All-Around crown (39.550).
The Maroon and Gold collected team scores of 49.050 (Vault), 49.100 (Bars), 48.225 (Beam) and 49.150 (Floor).
Iowa State earned teams scores of 48.800 (Vault), 48.500 (Bars), 48.725 (Beam) and 49.050 (Floor). Air Force notched team scores of 47.550 (Vault), 47.125 (Bars), 47.525 (Beam) and 48.000 (Floor).
"The victory is very nice," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "We didn't quite perform to the level we were hoping to, so that was disappointing, but we had three very good events and beam was uncharacteristic of us. That's usually a great event for us and tonight it wasn't quite there. Overall, I'm very proud of our girls and the areas they really shined."
"Tonight really showed our team perseverance and strength pulling back together after some performances that didn't happen the way we wanted to," said Mable.
On the Uneven Bars, the first rotation of the night, Mable earned first overall with a 9.900. Fellow senior Madeline Hanley came in second place with a score of 9.850. Sophomore Abby DeMuse and junior Bailie Holst tied for fifth on the apparatus with identical marks of 9.800.
On Beam, Mable earned top honors with a 9.900 followed by junior Rachel Haines who finished fourth overall with a 9.800.
After two rotations, the Maroon and Gold led the Cyclones (97.300) and Falcons (95.525) with 97.325.
For the third rotation, the Gophers took to Floor, where sophomore Ciara Gardner tied with Haylee Young of Iowa State for first place with 9.900s. Mable and DeMuse followed for third and fourth place with a 9.875 and 9.850, respectively.
On Vault, the final rotation of the night, Mable earned a 9.875 for first place. Junior Bailey Abernathy tied with Young of Iowa State for second place honors with scores of 9.825. Gardner and DeMuse tied with Cyclone Meaghan Sievers for fourth after notching 9.800s.
In the All-Around, Mable earned top honors with a final tally of 39.550. Gardner and DeMuse finished third and fourth with totals of 39.150 and 38.650, respectively.
"This week, we're going to go back into the gym and work on all of those little things like the landings and the handstands as we have been and keep working on building our confidence," said Mable. "We know that we can hit every weekend and go make every performance ideally as similar as possible so we keep up our consistency."

Next Saturday, the Maroon and Gold will return to the Sports Pavilion for the final home meet of the regular-season. The team will welcome Winona State University, Gustavus Adolphus and Hamline at the Best of Minnesota Meet. Action is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
