Seven Divers to Compete at NCAAs

Seven Gophers qualified for NCAA Championships platform diving competition on the final day of the Zone D Diving Championships at Texas A&M. Minnesota's qualified divers include: Matt Barnard, Alan LeBlang, Manny Pollard, Jessica Ramberg, Lexi Tenenbaum, Dylan Zoe and Yu Zhou.
Zhou swept women's diving with her gold on platform after notching 597.65 points in the preliminary and final rounds. Fellow junior Tenenbaum followed for second with a 586.70, while Ramberg finished eighth with a 525.00.
Rookie Mariam Khamis finished 18th in the event with a score of 436.90. Beth Etterman finished 21st on platform (214.00).
On the men's side, four Gophers finished in the top eight on the platform. Barnard (753.40) and Zoe (726.70) finished third and fourth. Leblang qualified for his first NCAA Championships meet with a seventh-place finish at 689.55. Pollard came in eighth (684.95). Daniel Monaghan placed 15th (518.95).
The 2016 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships will run from March 16-19, with the men's championship meet following the week after from March 23-26. Both meets will be hosted at Georgia Tech.
