Minnesota Wins 10 Events at UST

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The University of Minnesota women's track & field team won 10 events at the Tommie Twilight hosted by the University of St. Thomas Wednesday night.
On the track, Bolade Jinadu won the 200m dash in 25.14 seconds and Molly Eastman won the 5,000m run in a career-best 17:45.71.
Minnesota took home four titles in the field events as Cami Gilson won the pole vault at 3.87m (12-08.25), and the Gophers won three of four throwing events led by Agnes Esser winning both the discus (50.05m, 164-02) and the hammer throw (59.04m, 193-08). In addition, Kiley Sabin won the shot put at 15.23m (49-11.75) and was runner-up in the discus (47.08m, 154-05). Behind Esser in the hammer, Minnesota took the top six places.
Three Gophers took home four event titles while competing unattached as well, led by Rachel Schow winning both the 100m hurdles (14.18) and the 400m hurdles (career-best 1:00.38). Sophia Anderson won the 400m dash in 56.95, and Megan Flanagan won the 3,000m steeple chase in a career-best 11:15.07.
Other notable performances for the Gophers included Caitlin Dillon finishing as the runner-up in the 3,000m steeple chase in a career-best 11:22.30, and the 4x400m relay team of Anne Haakenstad, Paige Peschel, Kate Bishop, and Liz Miller also taking second in 4:00.28.
Eleven Gophers, including six unattached runners, posted career-best times in the 1500m run, including a 10-second personal best for Sarah Klecker in 4:41.15. Tess Wasowicz (4:34.38) and Patty O'Brien (4:36.27) led the way in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
The Gophers compete at the Meet of the Un-Saintly hosted by Hamline University this Friday and Saturday in their final competition before the 2016 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championship next weekend.
