Summer Update: Levin and Sprinkel

The Gophers men's tennis team has had a busy summer and we will be catching up with each player. This week's update is with sophomores Justyn Levin and Jesse Sprinkel.
Levin competed in tournaments back in Australia. He fell in the final round of qualifying at the Brisbane Open and had to retire from the Queensland because of small injury. Now Levin is training for the upcoming season and is planning on playing in a couple more tournaments before he returns to campus.
Sprinkel has been competing in tournaments around the Midwest. He started off in a US Open Sectional Qualifier in late June that was hosted by the Baseline Tennis Center. Sprinkel won one singles match and two matches in the mixed doubles. He then traveled to Gustavus Adolphus College where he won on singles match. Sprinkel's most recent competition was at another ITA Tournament at the University of Iowa where he won his first two singles matches and made the quarterfinals for doubles.
Gophersports.com: What are you looking forward to for the upcoming season?
JL: "I am really looking forward to catching up with my teammates as well as meeting our new freshman, seeing what they have to offer our team. I am also looking forward to getting back into our heavy training regime, to get back to competing at such a high level."
JS: "I'm looking forward to getting to know the incoming freshmen. We have good mix of personalities on our team so it will be fun to see how they will add to that. I'm also looking forward to just getting back out there and working hard with the guys every day."
GS: Do you have any goals for the upcoming season?
JL: "My goals I would say are to really focus on my studies this semester as well as make some big improvements on some weaknesses that will help me for our upcoming dual season."
