MADISON, Wis. (GopherSports.com) - The No. 18 University Minnesota men's track & field program won nine out of 15 events to claim its third-straight Minnesota/Wisconsin Dual championship on Saturday at the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center.
The Maroon & Gold outscored the Badgers 87-74 at the meet as Minnesota has now swept the Border Battle every year since the event returned in 2015.
"I'm happy for our guys," Minnesota Director of Men's Track & Field and Cross Country Steve Plasencia said. "They've really embraced this meet, and it's great to see the passion that they bring to the competition each year."
All-American Luca Wieland led the way for the Gophers with a pair of first-place finishes for 10 points. The senior paced the 60-meter hurdles at 8.09 and also added a win in the long jump at 7.40 meters (24-03.50 ft.).
