10/20/2018 3:17:00 PM | Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving

The University of Minnesota swimming and diving teams came away with a split performance in their first home dual of the season against Florida State on Saturday morning.

RESULTS

The Gophers men's program turned in an impressive performance while improving to 1-1 on the season and sweeping multiple events. Gopher wins by Bowen Becker and Max McHugh helped the Maroon and Gold to a 181-119 victory over FSU. The Minnesota women fell to 0-2 on the season after a 124-176 finish at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center despite multiple individual wins by Chantal Nack and Mackenzie Padington.

"I thought our men were really balanced across the board," head coach Kelly Kremer said. "You saw some young guys make improvements and stepping forward, our veterans and leadership, doing what they need to do. On the women's side, like a week ago, they fought from start to finish, and I am proud of their effort. We are going to get there, and I know we are because they doing the things that we need to do to be successful."
