ITA National Rankings: Team | Singles | Doubles

MINNEAPOLIS - Following last week's ITA Indoor National Team Championships, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its latest national, singles, and doubles rankings.

Minnesota remains a top-50 team in the nation according to ITA, tied for No. 41 with Loyola Marymount in the latest rankings Among this week's foes, Drake also ranks in the top 50, holding the No. 49 spot. Stefan Milicevic remains a top-50 singles player in the nation, now ranked No. 45 in the latest ratings. The Gophers' top senior pairing, Felix Corwin and Matic Spec, remain ranked in the latest polls but slid a bit, now No. 58.

Keeping Up with the Joneses
Minnesota cruised to a 5-2 victory to open the Big Ten season last weekend, defeating their neighbors to the east, Wisconsin, in the border battle. Juniors Justyn Levin and Josip Krstanovic continued their strong play at no. 2 doubles, now 3-1 at the position this season, in helping the Gophers pick up the ever-important doubles point. Matic Spec moved up to no 2 singles for the first time this spring, cruising to a 6-3, 6-0 victory. Rookie Jackson Allen clinched the dual for Minnesota, claiming the fourth point of the day with a victory at no. 5 singles. He's now 2-0 at the position and 3-2 overall on the spring.

Gophers in the Rankings
Stefan Milicevic ranked no. 45 in the latest ITA National Singles Rankings released Tuesday. He is 2-4 yet this season, looking to regain the heights of his fall campaign when he posted an 11-3 mark. Felix Corwin and Matic Spec are now 3-2 in the spring and 9-5 overall for the 2017-18 season, slipping in the polls to No. 58 in the latest poll.

Returning All-Big Ten
Minnesota returns three All-Big Ten honorees from a season ago in Spec, Corwin, and Krstanovic. Spec landed on the First Team All-Big Ten with a 21-16 overall mark and 6-6 mark against conference foes. Corwin landed on the Second Team All-Big Ten with a 23-13 mark and a 7-6 conference record. Krstanovic posted a 21-9 record in his sophomore season and earned Minnesota's Big Ten Sportsmanship award.

Drake owns a 10-4 overall record, including a 3-0 mark in the Summit League, and rides a seven-dual winning streak headed into the weekend, including victories over Big Ten rival Iowa and Arizona out of the Pac-12 ... David Kozlowski is in his sixth season leading the Bulldogs ... junior Vinny Gillespie has led the way for Drake with an 8-4 mark this season at no. 1 singles ... junior Tom Hands is 8-2 at the second singles position ... Gillespie and Barny Thorold have been strong at no. 1 doubles, posting a 7-2 mark while the team is 9-3 overall at the first position ... Minnesota owns an 12-3 all-time record against the Bulldogs including a 5-2 record last season on March 5, 2017 at Baseline

Penn takes on Wisconsin in Madison Friday and Drake at Baseline Tennis Center Saturday before taking on the Gophers Sunday to close out a Midwest tour. The Quakers are 3-5 on the season and 0-2 in true road match-ups this spring ... David Geatz is in his seventh season leading the squad ... junior Kyle Mautner is a perfect 5-0 during the spring season competing at no. 1 singles ... sophomore Max Cancilla is 4-0 with victories at fourth and fifth singles ... Mautner and Dmitry Shatalin have competed at first doubles for the Quakers, posting a 2-2 mark yet this season ... Josh Pompan and Nicholai Westergaard are 3-0 at no. 2 singles ... the Gophers are 2-0 all-time against Penn including a 4-3 victory last season on Feb. 5, 2017 in Philadelphia.
