Gophers Take Second at ISU Quad-Meet

FINAL RESULTS
Lexy Ramler tied for a pair of event titles as the No. 19 University of Minnesota Gophers finished second at No. 25 Iowa State this evening.
The Gophers finished with a 194.425. Iowa State won with a 195.775, Michigan State took third with a 191.775 and UW-Stout rounded out the evening with a 185.550.
"It was a disappointing competition tonight. We had such a great week of practice that I really thought we would see those type of performances tonight," head coach Jenny Hansen said. "We are going to meet as a team and figure out a strategy moving forward. We know we are much better than we showed tonight and we are excited to get back in the gym and prove it."
BARS
The Gophers got bars off to a shaky start but were anchored by strong performances from Lexy Ramler and Ivy Lu. Ramler notched a 9.900 for a second place finish and Lu followed with a 9.850 for a fourth place finish on the event.
BEAM
Ramler tied for the beam title with a 9.900. Lu took a podium finish with a 9.875 and Ciara Gardner finished fourth with a 9.825.
FLOOR
Ona Loper was the highest scoring Gopher on floor with a 9.750. Selena Ung scored a 9.725 to round out the top-10 on the event.
VAULT
Ramler tied for the event title with a 9.875 and a new career high on vault. Hannah Hitchcock notched her second 9.850 of the season for a podium finish. Kristen Quaglia also tied a career high mark with a 9.775.
UP NEXT
The Gophers host Arizona State for their regular season home finale and senior night Saturday, March 3 at 4 p.m.
