Meet Preview: Big Five Meet

Big Ten's Preview // Don't Forget To Buy Your NCAA Regional Tickets!
The No. 22 Gophers are gearing up for the Big Five meet at Rutgers this weekend taking on No. 7 Michigan, No. 25 Penn State, Iowa and Rutgers.
The final results will determine positioning for the 2018 Big Ten Championships next weekend at Illinois, with the top three marks placing in the night session and the lower two taking part in the earlier portion. The other Big Five meet will happen at Michigan State.
Saturday's meet will broadcast live on Big Ten Network. Gopher fans will notice a familiar face, Lindsay Mable, on the broadcast with Bernie Guenther.
The Gophers will head to the B1G Championships at Illinois next week before hosting NCAA Regionals on April 7.

Last Time Out
The Gophers notched a 49.450 on bars tying the school record in a quad-meet at Sacramento State. Minnesota was edged out by a red hot No. 20 California team at tonight's quad-meet in Sacramento. The Gophers finished second with a 196.475 while Cal finished with a 196.650. Sacramento State finished with 195.175 and Alaska rounded out the evening with a 191.925.
Lexy Ramler notched her seventh all-around title of the season with a 39.575, her second highest mark of the year. She also won a share of the bars title with teammate Ivy Lu, they both scored a 9.950 on the event, and a share of the vault title with five other gymnasts.
Ramler led the way with a 9.925 for a second place finish on beam. Selena Ung continues to impress on the beam. For the second straight week she matched her career high with a 9.850 and took fourth.
Ciara Gardner, Ramler and Paige Williams continued to be a force on floor. They all posted 9.850s in the bottom three spots of the lineup.
The Gophers got off to rough start on vault but Hannah Hitchcock and Ramler got things on track with back-to-back 9.850s. They finished in a six-way tie for first. Senior Abby DeMuse, who has battled injuries the past two seasons, came up with a big anchor on the event. She notched a season high 9.750 to bump up the Gophers score.
The Maroon and Gold saved their best for last with a school record bars performance. Rachel Rowland tied her career high for the second straight week with a 9.875 for a fourth place finish. Hitchcock capped off a strong evening with a 9.900 for third. Ramler and Lu closed out the event with back-to-back 9.950s. The mark was a career high on bars for Ramler.

The Maroon and Gold has a RQS of 196.160. They have hit their top two marks the past two weekends with a 196.675 and a 196.475.
The Gophers are not ranked lower than No. 30 on any event. Their top ranked event is bars with a 49.205 RQS. They are No. 25 on beam with a 49.040, No. 29 on floor with a 49.115 and No. 30 on vault with a 48.970.
The Gophers top score on any event came at Ohio State when they notched a 49.550 on floor. That mark was the highest since 2004 and the second highest in program history on floor.
Lu is the top ranked Gopher on any event. She is ranked No. 3 in the NCAA with a 9.950 RQS and has gone over 9.900 on bars in eight meets this season and has hit 9.950 or higher four times this season. Lu also posted a perfect 10.000 on beam this season becoming just the second Gopher ever to do so.
Ramler is No. 4 on beam in the NCAA with a 9.925 RQS. She is also No. 10 on all-around with a 39.470 RQS. That mark is good for first in the Big Ten and she has posted the two highest all-around scores in the conference this season. She has won four B1G Gymnast of the Week honors and four B1G Freshman of the Week awards.
