DOUBLES
The Gophers started the day with some fireworks coming back to win a pair of tiebreak doubles matches. After the pair of Caitlyn Merzbacher and Mehvish Safdar fell 6-3 in the No. 1 spot, the pressure was on for the Gophers in the final two spots.
Caroline Ryba and River Hart found themselves locked in a back-and-forth match all afternoon. They were able to come from behind in the tiebreak set and put it away with a Ryba shot down the baseline to tie doubles up 1-1.
Tina Kreinis and Annemarie Emme were up early but saw their lead disappear. They were able to settle back in and also come back in the tiebreak set to seal the match and the doubles point in the No. 2 spot. The pair is now 6-2 from that spot together this season.
"I always love clinching. It's always super memorable," Kreinis said. "I love playing with Annie. We make each other feel good out there."
SINGLES
The Maroon and Gold made quick work of singles ripping off three straight set victories to seal the victory. Kreinis wasted no time pulling out a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the No. 2 spot and Merzbacher quickly followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5. Just caught up with @tinakreinis and Coach Thompson after today's B1G win. They both pointed to doubles as a big motivator for how singles played out. #SkiUMah pic.twitter.com/wZauuXWG1i
