Gophers Welcome Two More to Class of 2022

The University of Minnesota has added two more student-athletes to the class of 2022, head coach Jenny Hansen announced Friday.

Ali Sonier and Carson Cronin will be joining the Gophers along with Tiarre Sales, Kaitlyn Higgins and Abbie Nylin.

"We are really excited to add both Ali and Carson to our team. We think they are a good fit with our culture and where our team is going," Hansen said. "They are going to bring some really good depth and high level gymnastics to our team so we can't wait to have them join us."

Carson Cronin - Elite Gymnastics - Medway High School



Cronin took first place on vault and floor at the Level 10 Massachusetts State Championships. She notched a 9.650 on vault and a 9.550 on floor while also taking third in the all-around with a 36.650.

Ali Sonier - LaFleur Academy of Gymnastics - Hamilton High School



Sonier is a two-time Junior Olympics National Qualifier. She took first at Level 10 Wisconsin State on both all-around and floor in 2018. She has hit 9.700 on vault, 9.600 on beam and has a career high 37.800 on all-around.
