Eight Gophers Earn Academic Honors from CRCA

CRCA: 2018 Scholar Athlete Awards (June 4, 2018)

The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced Tuesday its selections for CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2018 season with eight Gophers achieving national academic recognition.

To earn the National Scholar-Athlete honor, student athletes must be at least in her second year of athletic eligibility meet all eligibility rules, rowed for her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boats for a minimum of 75 percent of spring races or one regional or conference event and have a coach who is a member of good standing in the CRCA. Additionally, she must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 throughout her career.

The eight Gophers to land the honor in 2018 including Emily Appold, Kortney Luedloff, Lauren Miller, Allie Schmidt, Allison Sterneman, Natalie Stratton, Elyse Terlion, and Gabrielle Tripps. Appold, Luedloff, and Sterneman each earn a selection for the third time in their career while the fifth-year senior Miller makes it four-straight years honored by the CRCA.
