MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota men's and women's swimming and diving head coach Kelly Kremer has been named to the Big Ten women's coaching staff for the inaugural 2018 ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Set to take place Nov. 10-11 at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center on the campus of Purdue University, the Big Ten All-Star team will square off against the ACC All-Star team in a short-course yards dual meet.
Kremer will be joining Michigan's Mike Bottom who was selected as the Big Ten women's head coach. Swimming student-athletes will be determined at a later date where at least two females and two males, but no more than five of each from each institution will be chosen to compete. For diving there will be no more than two males and two females from each school.
The format will look similar to the 2016 College Challenge which featured an exciting showdown against USA Swimming. A combined score, points earned by both women and men, will be kept during the dual meet as team scoring will be used to determine a winner of the All-Star meet. Meet scoring will mirror NCAA dual meet parameters.
More information regarding television, ticketing and complete list of student-athletes competing will be available at a later date.
