Gophers in the Pros (Aug. 1 Update)

Turning the calendar to August marks another great chance to update on the seasons of those former Gophers who are currently playing professionally. For the most recent update from the start of the season until mid-July, click here.
Austin Athmann (Lakeland Flying Tigers/Tigers A Advanced)
Athmann has played in five games over the last two weeks, driving in a pair of runs and slugging a double as he went 2-for-4 against the Dunedin Blue Jays. He's now batting .237 for the season with eight doubles, 18 RBIs, and 15 runs scored in 58 games this season.
Micah Coffey (Great Falls Voyagers/White Sox Rookie)
Coffey advanced to the Pioneer League shortly after the last update, finishing with a .275 average for the AZL Sox as he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored on July 19. Since his promotion, he has a hit in 3-of-5 games, including a pair of doubles, while driving in four runs. This season, he's batting .259 with six doubles and 14 RBIs across the two levels.
Alec Crawford (Carolina Mudcats/Brewers A Advanced)
Crawford saw his stint with the Brewers minor league system come to an end on July 19 after being released by the Carolina Mudcats.
Lucas Gilbreath (Asheville Tourists/Rockies A)
Gilbreath has made a pair of starts the last two weeks with varied results. After six innings allowing three-earned on June 23, he allowed six earned runs in just 2.2 innings last time out. For the season, he has a 5.49 ERA, striking out 90 batters in 95.0 innings spanning 17 starts and 22 pitching appearances.
Brian Glowicki (South Bend Cubs/Cubs A)
Glowicki has made five appearances out of the Cubs' bullpen over the past couple of weeks, picking up his 15th save of the season. He gave up two earned runs in that span, but still has a 1.45 ERA on the year. He's struck out 49 batters in 49.2 innings.
Jordan Jess (Bradenton Marauders/Pirates A)
Jess made three appearances in the last two weeks, extending his workload with a pair of two-inning efforts including a hitless, two-strikeout performance last time out against Tampa. He has three saves this season and a 5.89 ERA in 36.2 innings, collecting 40 strikeouts.
Dan Lyons (Long Island Ducks/Atlantic League)
Lyons has a hit in 4-of-6 games over the last two weeks, though the Ducks have not shared his success with a four-game losing streak. He's now hitting .211 for the season with 20 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
Ben Meyer (New Orleans Babycakes/Marlins AAA)
After nearly a month in the big leagues, the Marlins optioned Meyer back to AAA on Tuesday. He allowed runs in each of his two most recent MLB appearances, returning to the minor leagues with an 8.22 ERA in 15.1 innings.
Reggie Meyer (Spokane/Rangers A)
Meyer made a pair of appearances out of Spokane bullpen over the last two weeks, including a scoreless inning last time out, striking out one. Meyer has struck out at least a batter in each of his last four outings, totaling 11 punch outs in 9.2 innings this season.
Dan Motl (Sioux Falls Canaries/American Association)
Motl was hit by a pitch, stole a base, and scored a run as Sioux Falls defeated Winnipeg 10-8 back on July 19, his last appearance before being placed on the disabled list.
Jackson Rose (GCL Marlins/Marlins Rookie)
Rose has now posted four-straight scoreless outings for the GCL Marlins, striking out at least a batter in each of those appearances. He went 2.0 hitless innings with a strikeout last time out against the GCL Nationals. He now has a 1.42 ERA and five strikeouts in 6.1 innings.
Dalton Sawyer (Oakland A's System)
Sawyer continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery.
D.J Snelten (Norfolk Tides/Orioles AAA)
Snelten was placed on the disabled list on July 17 with a left shoulder injury.
Terrin Vavra (Boise Hawks/Rockies A)
Vavra continues to tear through the Northwest League, batting .329 for the season. He went 2-for-6 with a double and his second home run of the season on Monday to cap a series against Tri-City. Vavra has driven in 16 runs in 21 games and stole five bases.
Tom Windle (Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs/Phillies AAA)
Windle has been busy with four appearances out of the Iron Pigs bullpen the last two weeks to mixed results. While he tossed a scoreless inning against Toledo on July 21, his last outing saw four runs score on three hits and three walks. He did collect a pair of strikeouts. For the season, Windle has a 4.78 ERA in 43.1 innings, striking out 41 batters on the season.
