Gophers in the Pros (Aug. 15 Update)

With just a few weeks left in the minor league regular season, it is time once again to check in on how Gopher Baseball alumni are performing at the next level. For the most recent update from the start of the season until August 1, click here.
Austin Athmann (Lakeland Flying Tigers/Tigers A Advanced) - Stats
Athmann enjoyed a four-game hitting streak while playing in nine games the last two weeks. He has driven in three runs, crossed the plate three times, and added one double in that span. For the season, he is now hitting .238 with 21 RBIs, 18 runs, and nine doubles.
Micah Coffey (Great Falls Voyagers/White Sox Rookie) - Stats
Coffey had a hit in four-straight games entering Tuesday night's game against Ogden. Since his call to Great Falls late last month, he has double twice, homered, driven in five runs, and scored six runs. For his rookie season, he is batting .245 with 17 RBIs, 18 runs scored.
Lucas Gilbreath (Asheville Tourists/Rockies A) - Stats
Gilbreath earned a pair of victories in starts last week, tossing 5.0 one-hit innings with seven strikeouts against Columbia on Aug. 4 before surrendering just two earned, matching his seven-strikeout total in 6.0 innings on Aug. 9 at Lexington. He is now 6-8 with a 5.09 ERA for the season, striking out 104 batters compared to just 23 walks in 106.0 innings.
Brian Glowicki (South Bend Cubs/Cubs A) - Stats
Glowicki made five appearances for the Cubs the past two weeks, totaling 8.2 innings. He continues to thrive, allowing just three hits and zero earned runs in that same span. He is now 3-5 with 16 saves, a 1.23 ERA, and 55 strikeouts in 58.1 innings pitched. He has not allowed an earned run in eight appearances.
Jordan Jess (Bradenton Marauders/Pirates A) - Stats
Jess continues a hot streak for the Marauders, allowing just one earned run in his last six pitching appearances. In 6.2 innings since the turn of the calendar to April, he has allowed just three hits and struck out six, lowering his ERA to 5.19 for the season. On the year, he has collected 46 strikeouts while allowing just 10 walks in 43.1 innings.
Dan Lyons (Long Island Ducks/Atlantic League) - Stats
Lyons has been busy the last couple of weeks, collecting hits in 5-of-9 games, including seven total while drawing seven walks in the same span. He drove in three runs with a home run on Aug. 10. He is now batting .220 with a .305 on-base percentage, slugging four home runs
Ben Meyer (New Orleans Babycakes/Marlins AAA) - Stats
Meyer has made just two appearances since his return to AAA, allowing three earned in 2.1 innings in a start on Aug. 5, but rebounded Tuesday with 3.0 shutout innings, picking up the victory out of the Babycakes bullpen at Memphis. He now has a 4-4 record, 4.28 ERA, and 47 strikeouts in 61.0 innings at AAA this season.
Reggie Meyer (Spokane/Rangers A) - Stats
Meyer made a pair of successful appearances for Spokane this month, first allowing one run on four hits in 2.2 innings at Eugene on Aug. 2, striking out three before coming back with a clean inning, striking out two at Boise on Aug. 10. He has now lowered his ERA to 6.08 in 13.1 innings spanning 10 games, collecting 16 strikeouts on the season.
Dan Motl (Sioux Falls Canaries/American Association) - Stats
Motl has hits in 4-of-5 games for the Canaries this past month, including five hits during a three-game hitting streak entering Wednesday. He doubled Tuesday against the St. Paul Saints, and went 4-for-8 with two RBIs against Fargo-Moorhead over the weekend.
Jackson Rose (GCL Marlins/Marlins Rookie) - Stats
Rose ran into trouble after five-straight scoreless outings, surrendering four runs total in his last two appearances. Still, he has struck out three batters in 2.2 innings in August, bringing his season mark to eight strikeouts in 9.0 innings while posting a 5.00 ERA in eight appearances.

Sawyer continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery.
D.J Snelten (Norfolk Tides/Orioles AAA) - Stats
Snelten returned from the disabled list on Aug. 9 with a scoreless appearance against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He has made three appearances yet this month, now 3-3 with a 4.66 ERA in 38.2 innings in the minor leagues this season, totaling 41 strikeouts.
Terrin Vavra (Boise Hawks/Rockies A) - Stats
Vavra enters play Wednesday on a four-game hitting streak, including a 3-for-5 game against Boise on Aug. 10, ripping a triple and a home run. He drove in three runs and scored twice. One pitcher he could not hit was former Gophers teammate Reggie Meyer, who forced him to ground out to end the game. Vavra is now hitting .320 for the season with three home runs, 20 RBIs, 13 runs scored, 13 walks, and six stolen bases.
Tom Windle (Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs/Phillies AAA) - Stats
Windle continues to try to build his case at the AAA level with scoreless appearances in 2-of-3 outings in August. He is now 9-4 with a 4.73 ERA in 40 games, striking out 42 compared to just 25 walks in 45.2 innings
