LAKE ELMO, Minn. - Facing the best field in all of college women's golf, the Minnesota women's golf team overcame tough weather conditions on the final day at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M. The Gophers concluded the tournament at Royal Golf Club in 12th place (301-296-297—894).

"I'm extremely encouraged by the way our team played this week," said head coach Michele Redman. "Being able to participate in this tournament provides us a chance to see where we can improve while competing against the best in the country."

Sophomore Grace Kellar was the top Gopher finisher, tying for 40th place at 5-over par (72-73-76—221). Senior Muyu Wu was two shots behind, tying for 47th at 7-over par (77-73-73—223) and posting the low Minnesota round of the day. Sophomore Joanne Free (78-75-74—227) placed 52nd, while classmates Jessica Lee (74-77-77—228) and Kate Lillie (79-75-74—228) tied for 53rd.

Alabama claimed the team title with a score of 836, while UCLA's Patty Tavatanakit (72-68-63—203) captured medalist honors.

The Gophers return to action in two weeks, traveling to Highlands Ranch, Colo., for the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate.
