Gophers Host North Dakota State in Non-Conference Finale

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota soccer heads into the second half of a seven-match home stand welcoming North Dakota State to Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium on Friday, Sept. 7. Kick off is scheduled for 6 p.m. The Gophers then enjoy a week of training prior to the start of Big Ten play, which they open up at home. The Gophers host Illinois and Northwestern on Sept. 14 and 16 respectively.

NATIONAL FOOD BANK DAY
Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to Friday's matchup as part of National Food Bank Day. Fans will receive $3 admission with the donation of a boxed or canned good. All proceeds will benefit the Thrivent Heart for Hunger Campaign.

WELCOME BACK ALUMNI
Friday evening the Gophers welcome back soccer alumni for Alumni Day. The 2008 Big Ten Champions will highlight the evening as they return for a 10 year reunion celebration. The 2008 Gophers reached the Round of 16 during their NCAA tournament run and finished the year with a program-best 22 wins.

ROCK THE ROBBIE!
1,443 fans rocked Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium on Sunday as the Gophers took on top-ranked Stanford. That mark comes in as the eighth largest crowd in ELR history and results in the third straight season the Gophers have registered a top-10 attendance record.

THREES COMPANY TOO
Maddie Castro, Molly Fiedler and Patricia Ward all lead the Gophers scoring with three points. Each have added a goal and an assist this season, where Castro is the lone Gopher to pick up both stats in one match which she did at Utah State.

BOCKIN IT DOWN
With an assist against Ole Miss and Utah, senior April Bockin has recorded 22 career assists which ranks her eighth all-time in program history. The offensive minded forward also has 13 career goals and 48 points which leads all active Minnesota players.

SECOND HALF MAGIC
There is no panic from the Gophers when trailing at the half. So far this season the Gophers are outscoring their opponents 5-1 in the second half which stems from last year's mark of outscoring the opposition 26-7 in the final 45 minutes.

SERIES HISTORY
Minnesota holds a 7-0 all-time record against the Bison. Friday's match will mark the fifth time the two non-conference foes meet at ELR Stadium. The Gophers are outscoring the Bison 22-2 and have not allowed a goal in their last two meetings. In those previous two meetings the Gophers won by a score of 3-0.

PARKING INFO
For Friday's matches the Gibbs Farm lot, Bell Museum lot, Gortner Avenue Ramp and SC101 lot will be open for soccer parking. the Bell Museum, Gortner Ramp and SC101 lot will have a charge to park in. A shuttle is scheduled to run between all stops and will drop all fans off right at ELR Stadium from their parking destinations. A second shuttle will be running from the Minneapolis campus as well for students and fans. Pick up will take place at the Athlete's Village courtyard back by the MINNESOTA signage. Pick up location also includes a spot at Territorial Hall before the Athlete's Village stop.
