STARTING FIVE
• The Minnesota men's basketball team hosts border rival Iowa on Sunday afternoon in their lone meeting of the regular-season.  As part of the American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers week, Minnesota coaches will be wearing Nike sneakers during Sunday's game.
• Eight games into the conference season, junior guard Amir Coffey is tied for third the Big Ten averaging 18.5 points per game in Big Ten contests. Coffey has reached double figures in all but one Big Ten game, including a career-high 32 points against Nebraska.
• Senior forward Jordan Murphy is second in Big Ten play in rebounding, pulling down 10.6 boards per game, and leads in overall rebounding with 12.1 rebounds per game on the season, second in the nation. His 1,139 career rebounds ranks third in Big Ten Conference history, nine shy of tying Joe Barry Carroll for second place. Murphy became the 10th player in Big Ten history with 1,500+ points and 1,000+ career rebounds. Additionally, Murphy broke Jim Brewer's 45-year old school record for career double-doubles, and now has 55.
• Senior guard Dupree McBrayer now ranks 14th all‐time at Minnesota with 112 career three‐pointers made. He is 13th in three-pointers attempted (325). McBrayer is just 21 points shy of becoming the 43rd Gopher player to reach the 1,000-point mark in his career.
• Several other Gophers have major career milestones on the horizon. Redshirt senior Brock Stull is just five points away from scoring 1,000 in his career, combined between his time at Milwaukee and Minnesota.  Amir Coffey is at 949 career points through 70 games in his junior season.

SCOUTING THE HAWKEYES
• Iowa had won five straight games before suffering a home loss to conference leader Michigan State on Thusday night, 82-67. It also ended a stretch in which Iowa had won 10 of its previous 11 games.
• Tyler Cook leads the Hawkeye offense scoring 16.6 points per game, a mark which ranks eighth in the conference.

UP NEXT
• The Gophers close out the month of January on Wednesday evening, hosting Illinois for the second matchup between the two teams.
• Tip time at the Barn is set for 8:00 p.m., with Big Ten Network and KFAN 100.3 FM carrying the broadcast.
