Halbmaier Leads Gophers at Jack's Run

Minnesota hosted Jack's Twilight Run at Les Bolstad Course on Friday evening.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Libby Halbmaier led the Golden Gopher women's cross country team as the women's champion as the University of Minnesota hosted Jack's Twilight Run at Les Bolstad Course on Friday evening. Brandon Kotek was the men's champion, clocking a time of 20:31 in the open 6K race.
Behind Halbmaier, Bit Klecker was Minnesota's second runner and the second female finisher. Elena Hayday (fifth), Courtney West (sixth), and Sam Baer (seventh) also competed for the Gophers while Megan Lundstrom (third) and Ananya Vegesna (fourth) raced unattached. All seven Gophers posted career-best 6K times.
Notable
Jack's Twilight Run honors the late Minnesota equipment manager Jack Johnson. Johnson will always be a part of the Minnesota women's cross country and track programs. After serving as the Golden Gophers' equipment manager for over three decades, Johnson passed away in February 2006 after a battle with cancer.
