MINNEAPOLIS -- The Golden Gopher cross country squad travels to Columbus, Ohio, for the 2019 Big Ten Conference Cross Country Championships on Sunday.
About the Big Ten Conference Championships
Ohio State is hosting the 2019 Big Ten Conference Cross Country Championships this Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. The men's 8K race kicks off the meet at 9:45 a.m. CT followed by the women's 6K race at 10:45 a.m. CT at Ohio State University Golf Club. Admission is free to the general public. While there is some parking on-site, visitors are encouraged to use the overflow parking lots (Buckeye Lots 1-5 – also known as B1-B5) at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute (2835 Fred Taylor Drive). Shuttles will run from the Buckeye Lot 4 (B4) every 15 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET to the Ohio State University Golf Club.
FloTrack will provide live coverage, and both races will also be streamed live on BTN+. A 30-minute highlight package of the competition will air on BTN and the Fox Sports App on Monday, Nov. 4 (6 p.m. CT and 8:30 p.m. CT), Tuesday, Nov. 5 (11 p.m. CT and 4 p.m. CT), and Wednesday, Nov. 6 (10 a.m. CT).

Libby Halbmaier led the way as the women's champion at Jack's Twilight Run last Friday. Behind Halbmaier, Bit Klecker was Minnesota's second runner and the second female finisher. Elena Hayday (fifth), Courtney West (sixth), and Sam Baer (seventh) also competed for the Gophers while Megan Lundstrom (third) and Ananya Vegesna (fourth) raced unattached. All seven Gophers posted career-best 6K times.
2018 Big Ten Championships Rewind
The Gopher women finished sixth with 167 points at the Big Ten Championships a year ago, led by Bethany Hasz (fifth) and Megan Hasz (12th). Meanwhile, Alec Basten led the Gopher men at the 2018 B1G Championships, posting an 8K time of 23:45.1 to finish eighth and earn Second Team All-Big Ten honors. The Maroon & Gold men placed seventh at the conference competition with 164 team points.
Up Next: Fall Finale and Rocky's Run
A pair of meets close out the regular season for the Gophers before the team travels to the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 15. Next weekend, the Gopher men race at the Fall Finale in Collegeville, Minn., at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, while the Gopher women wrap up the regular season by hosting Rocky's Run at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. Rocky's Run is an open 6K race, open to the public, with race-day registration at Les Bolstad Course.
