GOPHERS FACE WOLVERINES
Minnesota welcomes the Michigan Wolverines to Maturi Pavilion Saturday night at 7 p.m. The match will be streamed on BTN +. The Gophers are 57-15 all-time against Michigan, dating back to 1975. Minnesota came from behind to defeat the Wolverines earlier this year, 3-2, in Ann Arbor, Mich.
ABOUT MICHIGAN
No. 23 Michigan enters the Minnesota match with an 18-7 overall record. The Wolverines are 11-4 in conference play, only losing to ranked teams. Big Ten Player of the Week Paige Jones leads Michigan with 353 kills, averaging 3.84 kills per set. She also has a team-best 34 aces. Mackenzi Welsh adds 1011 assists, and Natalie Smith has 302 digs. May Pertofsky offers up a team-best 73 blocks. As a team, Michigan is hitting .275 and averages 13.88 kills per set.

Minnesota erased an 0-2 deficit and came back to win, 3-2 over Michigan, Oct. 25 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Minnesota lost the first two sets, 22-25, 23-25, but came back to win the last three, 25-21, 25-18, 15-13 for its eight conference win of the season. As a team, Minnesota hit .310 and limited Michigan to .226, despite the Wolverines' 76-58 kills lead. Minnesota had 16 blocks in the match, including five in both the fourth and deciding fifth set. A well-balanced attack, Minnesota had four individuals with double-digit kills. Alexis Hart paved the way for the Gophers. she had a season-best 20 kills and 45 attempts to hit .378. Stephanie Samedy added a double-double with 12 kills, 13 digs and two aces. Adanna Rollins tallied 11 kills and 10 digs for the double-double, while Regan Pittman added 10 kills, hit .348 and posted a career-best 11 blocks. Taylor Morgan and Hart also tallied five blocks.

The Golden Gophers fell to Wisconsin in four sets Thursday, 22-25, 25-23, 28-30, 27-29. Adanna Rollins led the Gophers with 16 kills. She also had 14 digs and four blocks. Airi Miyabe offered up 12 kills, three digs and two blocks.
GOPHERS ADD FOUR TO 2020 ROSTER
The University of Minnesota volleyball program has announced four additions to the 2020 roster. The Golden Gophers welcome Cami Appiani (San Diego, Calif.), Taylor Landfair (Plainfield, Ill.), Melani Shaffmaster (New Castle, Ind.) and Jenna Wenaas (Frisco, Texas) to the program. Landfair and Shaffmaster are scheduled to join the Gophers in January of 2020, while Appiani and Wenaas will join the team before the 2020 fall season. Landfair was ranked the No. 1 recruit in the nation by Prep Volleyball, while Wenaas was ranked No. 3 and Shaffmaster at No. 16. Appiani is on the top 110 list.

Minnesota closes its home regular season next weekend against Nebraska and Iowa, Nov. 22-23. Friday's match against Nebraska is televised on BTN at 8 p.m. The Saturday match against the Hawkeyes is senior night and set for 7 p.m.
