The Gophers celebrated their seniors as they hosted the final home meet of the indoor season on Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota took home eight event titles at the Parents Day Invite as the Golden Gopher women's track & field team hosted its final home meet of the indoor season on Saturday. Kiley Sabin, Lexi Kiefer, and Ally Smith won titles for the Maroon & Gold, and unattached Gophers won another five events.

Sabin improved on her own Gophers' program record and set a Parents Day Invite meet record with her winning throw of 17.47m (57-03.75) in the shot put. Behind Sabin, the Gophers took the top four places, including runner-up Nayoka Clunis competing unattached, followed by Tess Keyzers and Shay Nielsen.

Kiefer also had an all-time top-10 performance for the Maroon & Gold. She won pole vault with an indoor career-best mark of 4.00m (13-01.50), good for eighth in Gophers' history.

On the track, Smith won the 3,000m run in a career-best 9:57.94 and led nine Gophers among the top 12 finishers. Jaycie Thomsen (9:58.92) and Maria Eastman (9:59.20) rounded out the top three.

Ayesha Champagnie (60m hurdles and unseeded shot put), Libby Halbmaier (mile), and Kaitlyn Long (weight throw) won individual titles while competing unattached, and the unattached 4x400m relay team of Natalie Windels, Lauren Hansen, Champagnie, and graduate assistant coach Titania Markland won in 3:50.20 as well.

Behind Halbmaier's win in the mile, Tate Sweeney and Carissa Dock rounded out the top three finishers, respectively.

Allie Dugan finished as 400m runner-up while unattached Gophers Kayla Vogt (600m) and Taylor Krone (800m) also earned runner-up showings in their respective events.

In the field events, Minnesota had a strong showing in the weight throw with six of the top seven finishers. Behind Long's unattached win, Keyzers (20.27m, 66-06.00) and Temi Ogunrinde (20.05m, 65-09.50) led the way for the Gophers in second and third, respectively.

Minnesota celebrated its 12 graduating seniors during the meet in recognizing Sophia Anderson, Jenna Conzemius, Wilsonique Delson, Abby Kargol, Abby Lange, Kaitlyn Long, Patty O'Brien, Temi Ogunrinde, Paige Peschel, Karlie Place, Kiley Sabin, and Ally Smith for their careers and contributions to the program.

Up next for the Gophers is the 2019 Big Ten Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship next weekend. The B1G meet is set for Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23 and will be hosted by Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
