STARTING FIVE
• The Minnesota men's basketball team visits Evanston on Thursday for its lone matchup with the Northwestern Wildcats this season.
• Center Daniel Oturu, who picked up his second Big Ten Freshman of the Week award on Monday, leads all Big Ten freshmen players in rebounding (7.3 rpg), field goal percentage (56.4 percent) and blocks (1.5 bpg). He is sixth in scoring at 11.4 points per game, trailed closely by fellow Gopher freshman Gabe Kalscheur (10.7 ppg) who ranks ninth. Oturu also leads all freshman with seven double-doubles, tied for sixth among all Big Ten players.
• Senior forward Jordan Murphy, a two-time Big Ten Player of the Week, is second in Big Ten play in rebounding, pulling down 11 boards per game, and leads in overall rebounding with 11.8 rebounds per game on the season, fourth in the nation. His 1,241 career rebounds ranks second in Big Ten Conference history. His 19 double-doubles is tied for second in the nation.
• As of February 27, junior guard Amir Coffey is tied for seventh in the Big Ten averaging 15.6 points per game in Big Ten contests. Coffey crossed the 1,000-point mark on Feb. 3 at Purdue, becoming the 10th player in program history to do so during their junior season.
• Senior guard Dupree McBrayer now ranks eighth all-time at Minnesota in career assists (308), and  13th with 119 career three‐pointers made. He is 12th in three-pointers attempted (357). McBrayer became the 44th Gopher player to reach the 1,000-point mark in his career on Feb. 9 at Michigan State. Teammate Brock Stull, who spent three seasons at Milwaukee before joining the team this year as a grad transfer, became the third Gopher this season to cross 1,000 points for his career, doing so with a late basket against Michigan on Feb. 21.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
• Northwestern has dropped eight straight games, most recently a 69-64 home loss to Wisconsin on Feb. 23.
• The Wildcats are one of the stingiest defenses for 3-point shots, as NU ranks 10th in the country and first in the Big Ten in limiting opponents to 29.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
• Seniors Vic Law and Dererk Pardon lead the Wildcats in every major stat category. Law is the team's leader in scoring (15.6), assists (3.0) and steals (1.1), while Pardon leads in rebounds (7.6) and blocks (1.0).
