STARTING FIVE
• The Minnesota men's basketball team continues a challenging stretch of five ranked foes in six games, visiting Michigan State. It's the first time the Gophers have faced three straight ranked opponents since the end of the 2014-15 regular season.
• A win on Saturday would mark the Gophers' first road win over a top-10 team since Jan. 12, 2012, a 77-74 win at No. 7 Indiana. It would also mark the second win at Breslin Center for head coach Richard Pitino, becoming the second Gopher coach besides Clem Haskins to win multiple times there.
• As of February 8, junior guard Amir Coffey is fourth in the Big Ten averaging 18.3 points per game in Big Ten contests. Coffey has reached double figures in all but two Big Ten games, including a career-high 32 points against Nebraska. Coffey crossed the 1,000-point mark last Sunday at Purdue, becoming the 10th player in program history to do so during their junior season.
• Senior forward Jordan Murphy is second in Big Ten play in rebounding, pulling down 11.3 boards per game, and leads in overall rebounding with 12.1 rebounds per game on the season, third in the nation. His 1,189 career rebounds ranks second in Big Ten Conference history, after passing Joe Barry Carroll for second place. Murphy became the 10th player in Big Ten history with 1,500+ points and 1,000+ career rebounds. Murphy was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Jan. 28 and earned a spot on the Karl Malone Award Top 10 List earlier this week.
• Senior guard Dupree McBrayer now ranks tied for 10th all-time at Minnesota in career assists (295), and 14th with 113 career three‐pointers made. He is 13th in three-pointers attempted (338). McBrayer is just one points shy of becoming the 44th Gopher player to reach the 1,000-point mark in his career. Teammate Brock Stull is just five points away from 1,000 career points between his time at Milwaukee and Minnesota.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
• After starting the conference season 9-0, Michigan State has dropped its last three contests including a 79-74 decision at Illinois on Tuesday night.
• Cassius Winston leads the Spartan offense ranking tops in the Big Ten in assists (7.7 apg) and second in scoring (19.8 ppg). He is one of three double-digit scorers in Nick Ward (15.2) and Joshua Langford (15.0), the latter out for the season after suffering an ankle injury.

UP NEXT
• The Gophers continue play on the road, traveling to Lincoln on Wednesday to face Nebraska for the second time this season.
• Tip off from Pinnacle Bank Arena is set for 8:00 p.m., with BTN and KFAN carrying the game live.
