Gophers Set for Quick Pit Stop at Home Before Road Dual

The Golden Gophers split this weekend's competition between home court and the road as they face off with Indiana and Michigan
After a dominating first week of conference play across the east coast, the Gophers return home for a brief home stand against the Indiana Hoosiers on Mar. 22 at 1:30pm before hitting the road for their next three matches.
Doubles
After dropping the doubles point to the Terrapins, the Gophers look to get back on the right foot against tough competition. The top doubles tandem for the Gophers made up of Cammy Frei and Caitlyn Merzbacher has shown consistency throughout the season with an 8-3 dual record. However, Tina Kreinis and Tiffany Huber have produced similar numbers from the No. 2 spot. Â
Singles
The Gophers flourished in singles play over their recent weekend where they downed Maryland 6-1 after producing six straight singles victories to outlast the Terrapins. Additionally, the Maroon and Gold toppled opponents across the lineup. Senior, Bita Mancera has continued her hot streak in solo draws where she boasts a 12-2 dual record on the season followed by Frei with a 9-4 season in singles.
What To Expect
The Big Ten has progressively become one of the toughest conferences across college tennis and is currently home to four teams in the ITA/Oracle Top-50 with two of them within the Top-25. The Gophers will get their toughest stretch of the season thus far as they face No. 24 Michigan, Penn State, and No. 14 Ohio State on the road.
After the quick pit stop home against Indiana, the Gophers will take a day of travel before facing off with the Michigan Wolverines on Mar. 24 at 10am CT.
