Minnesota Thrives in Singles to Fuel 5-2 Win Over Iowa

The University of Minnesota women's tennis team kicked off their Senior Day doubleheader with an impressive 5-2 win over conference rival, Iowa. Minnesota moves to 13-10, 6-5 B1G on the year with a 10-1 home season with one more match left on their schedule.
Doubles
Fueled by their recent loss to Wisconsin, Iowa got the match started early in their favor with a quick point from doubles action. The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles position were controlled by the Hawkeyes to clinch the point while leaving the top spot unfinished.
Singles
Tiffany Huber started things off for the Gophers with a dominating 6-2, 6-0 win out of the No. 2 slot to tie the match. Shortly after Huber, Bita Mancera wrapped things up in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1 to extend the lead before Cammy Frei and Camila Vargas clinched the team win for the Maroon and Gold. The Gophers would add one more point from Caitlyn Merzbacher in a 7-5, 7-5 victory before Iowa tallied up their second point of the day.
