Gophers Fall on the Road to No. 3 Texas

The No. 8 University of Minnesota fell, 3-0, to No. 3 Texas, tonight, 25-22, 29-27 and 35-33. With the loss, the Golden Gophers fall to 1-2 on the season, while the Longhorns improve to 3-0.
Minnesota was led by Stephanie Samedy, who had 14 kills in 32 attempts and hit .312. Adanna Rollins followed with 13 kills and added a double-double with a team-best 12 digs. Alexis Hart had 11 kills and hit .429. Kylie Miller had 41 assists, while Rachel Kilkelly had 12 digs.
As a team, Minnesota hit .328 as Texas hit .371. The Longhorns also held a 9-4 block advantage, as the Gophers had a 46-41 dig lead.
Notable
The all-time series between the two teams is now tied, 5-5. Minnesota's last win against Texas came in Austin in 2017.

"I thought we battled hard and we had some chances to win a couple close sets," head coach Hugh McCutcheon said. "Texas played very well so congratulations to them for a great performance. We're looking forward to being home at the Pav on Saturday."
