Gophers captain Shane Wiskus was able to compete on an international stage late last night as he represented the Maroon & Gold community in the Friendship and Solidarity Competition in Tokyo, Japan.

While Wiskus and his team, Team Friendship, ended up coming up short against Team Solidarity by a score of 423.600-421.300, the Spring Park native was still able to gain valuable experience by taking on some of the world's best.

Overall Wiskus competed in four events total, scoring a 14.200 on his floor exercise, a 14.000 on parallel bars, a 12.700 on high bar, and finally ending his night with a 12.700 on pommel horse. His score on his floor routine ended up being tied for the third highest score in the event of all 30 athletes in attendance.

For those of you who missed Shane Wiskus competing for Team USA last night or want another chance to rewatch him compete in Japan, an encore presentation of the FIG Friendship and Solidarity Competition will be available on NBCSN starting today at 4 p.m. CST.
