Gophers Record Fourth Highest Team Score in Program History

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The No. 8 University of Minnesota Women's Gymnastics team earned an exciting win over Ohio State when they broke into the 197s, with a score of 197.400 to OSU's 195.550. Minnesota landed themselves in the record book on bars and beam, and with their team score. The Maroon and Gold move to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Big Ten.
Minnesota outscored Ohio State on bars, beam and floor, while tying with them on vault. The Gophers swept the podium on bars and beam, and took first on every event.
Noteable
Minnesota's 197.400 team score tonight moves into fourth place all-time in program history. The Gophers also recorded two more top-10 program performances on bars and beam. The 49.500 on bars moves to second all-time and the team's 49.600 on beam is now third all-time.

All-Around
For the second straight week, Ona Loper earned a first-place finish in the all-around with a new career-high of 39.550. Loper has been setting a new-career high in the all-around since the Rutgers quad meet on Jan. 18, when she scored a 39.500.
Lexy Ramler came in second with a 39.425. Ramler earned a 9.800 or higher on vault, bars and beam, and won two event titles.
Bars
The bars lineup was anchored by three straight 9.000s or higher, with the lowest score on the event being only a 9.800. The bars squad put up the second best team bars score in program history with a 49.500
Kristen Quaglia got the momentum flowing with a season-high 9.825, while Loper put up a 9.850, also a season-high. Ramler took first on the event with a near perfect 9.975, earning one 10 from a judge. Ivy Lu earned a second-place finish with a 9.950 and Tiarre Sales tied for fourth with a solid 9.900.
Vault
The Maroon and gold notched five 9.800s or higher on the event, earning a score of 49.125. Loper took the top spot on the event for the third straight week with a 9.875. Quaglia and Ali Sonier led-off with a pair of 9.800s, while Maddie Quarles and Ramler put up a set of 9.825s.
Floor
Minnesota improved upon their floor score from last weekend with a 49.175 against the Buckeyes. Paige Williams, Halle Remlinger and Loper all recorded 9.900, with it being a career-high for Remlinger and a season-high for Willaims.
Beam
Minnesota ended their night on beam, which is arguably the hardest event to close a meet on, with ease.
Minnesota put up four 9.925s or higher and swept the podium enroute to a score of 49.600. Ramler came away with her third straight beam title with a 9.950. Loper, Sales and Lu all tied for second with a 9.925. Sonier led-off with a career-record tying 9.875 to take fifth.

Minnesota returns home for a two-meet home stand starting on Feb. 8 when they host Iowa at 6 p.m. The following weekend, the Maroon and Gold welcome Nebraska to Maturi Pavilion for a 6:30 p.m. meet that will be televised on BTN.
