Gophers Begin 2020 B1G Championships with Wednesday Relays

After day one of the 2020 Big Ten Conference Men's Championships in Bloomington, Ind., the Gophers sit at eighth in the standings, earning 90 points in the first two races of the meet.
In the only two races of the night, the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay, the Gophers claimed a spot on the podium in each, marking a strong first session for the Maroon and Gold.
The night started off with the foursome of Cale Berkoff, Max McHugh, Tuomas Pokkinen, and Matthew Thomas touching seventh in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:25.39.
In the following race, the grouping of Tim Sates, Cameron Kelley, Nick Saulnier, and Kyle Van Niekerk finished eighth with a time of 6:24.39.
Competition picks back up tomorrow morning as preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. CT, with the finals session set for 5:30 p.m. CT.
