Minnesota Travels to Missouri for Quad Meet

The No. 11 University of Minnesota Women's gymnastics team travels to Columbia, Mo. for a quad meet against Missouri, Ohio State and Lindenwood. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. CT.
The meet will be available on SEC Network + HERE. Fans will be able to watch through WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app based on their cable provider
This will be the second time this season the Gophers will face Ohio State, and will be the first meeting between Lindenwood and Missouri. The last time the Gophers and the Buckeyes met was on Feb. 1, when the Gophers scored a season-high 197.400 to post the fourth highest score in program history.
Minnesota last saw Missouri during the 2019 season in a quad meet against Michigan, Centenary College and the Tigers in Columbia. The Gophers walked away with the first place finish with a team score of 196.900. Missouri scored a 196.800 to tie for second with Michigan.
The last meeting between Minnesota and Lindenwood was on Jan. 11, 2020 at Maturi Pavilion. Minnesota (194.425) finished ahead of Air Force (190.625) and Lindenwood (185.625).
Last Time Out
Minnesota is coming off a second place finish at Big 5s at Elevate the Stage. The Gophers fell to Michigan, who claimed the Regular Season title, 196.650-197.950, and defeated Michigan State, Penn State and Maryland.
Lexy Ramler talked a way with three podium finished, including a beam title. She finished tied for second on bars (9.925) and in the all-around (39.525), and tied for first on beam (9.975).
The Maroon and Gold's best event of the night was floor, posting a 49.300, their second highest score on the event this season.
Maddie Quarles tied for fourth on vault after posting her second 9.900 on the event this season, tying her career-high. Tiarre Sales tied for fifth on bars (9.875) and finished fifth in the all-around (39.325). Sales also set a new career-high on floor with a 9.850.
Gophers in the Rankings
For the first time this season, Minnesota is not ranked in the top-10 in the NCAA. They are just one spot out, coming in at No. 11.
Coming into week eight, teams are now ranked based on their National Qualifying Sore (NQS). NQS are based on a team's and an all-around competitor's six best regular-season meet scores. To calculate, a NQS, the high-score is dropped and the other five scores are averaged. Minnesota's NQS is 196.845.
For the first time this season, Minnesota has two gymnasts in the top-10 overall nationally. Ramler comes in at No.10 and Loper is No. 9.
Ramler is back on top in the beam rankings with a NQS of 9.970. Sales remains in the top-25, coming in at No. 22 with a 9.890 NQS.
Quarles and Loper are sitting just outside of the top-25 on vault. Quares is tied for 26th and Loper is tied for 28th. Two Gophers are in the top-25 on bars: Ramler at No. 7 (9.920 NQS) and Lu at No. 19 (9.885 NQS)
For the first time this season, Minnesota has an individual ranked in the top-25 on floor with Loper coming in at No. 23 (9.895 NQS).
B1G Rankings
After earning their first conference loss of the season at Big 5s, the Gophers are second in the Big 10 with an 8-1 conference record. Michigan is first with a perfect 9-0 and Nebraska rounds out the top three, going 7-2.
Michigan comes in at No. 7 overall and No. 1 in the B1G on Road To Nationals. They are averaging a team score of 196.975 and have a high score of 197.950 and a NQS of 197.045.
Minnesota checked in at No. 11 and is No. 2 in the conference. With an average of 196.846 and a high of 197.400, the Gophers have been ranked in the top two spots in the Big Ten the entire season on Road To Nationals.
The Gophers rank in the top-5 on every event in the conference. They are first on beam, a position they have held all season, second on bars, third on vault and are fourth on floor.
The Maroon and Gold have two gymnasts ranked in the top-5 overall in the Big Ten with Ramler and Loper sitting at No. 2 and No. 3. Ramler owns the top spot on both bars and beam. Ivy Lu joins Ramer in the rankings on the uneven bars, coming in at No. 2. Sales finishes out the top three sports on beam, coming in at No. 3. Loper's work on the floor is paying off as she is No. 3 in the conference in the event.
Scouting Missouri
The Tigers are coming off a 197.025-196.850 loss to top-ranked LSU. Helen Hu claimed the all-around (39.475) and beam (9.975) titles, while Morgan Porter finished first on vault (9.900).
Missouri is ranked No. 20 as a team and is ranked No. 15 on vault, beam and floor, and No. 21 on bars.
Porter is No. 16 in the all-around (39.320 NQS), averaging a score of 39.320 and a high of 39.450, and is N0. 16 on floor (9.900 NQS). Hu sits at N0. 5 on beam in the NCAA with a NQS of 9.930. She has a high of 9.975 and is averaging a 9.922 on the event.
Scouting Lindenwood
Lindenwood just hit 195+ for the first time this season with their 195.075 win over the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
The Lions are ranked No. 1 in the MIC with a high score of 195.075 and an average of 193.578. They are ranked in the top two on all four events, with their best event being beam, with a high score of 49.075.
Their two all-arounders are Ryan Henry and Sydney Lopez. Henry is averaging 38.343 while Lopez averages 38.517.
Scouting Ohio State
Ohio State placed third in session one of Big 5s at Elevate the Stage this past weekend with a season-high 196.475. They finished behind Nebraska and Illinois and beat out Iowa and Rutgers.
OSU is ranked in the top-25 on two events: Bars (No. 14) and floor (No. 24).
Claire Gagliardi is tied for third in the B1G and is No. 23 in the NCAA on floor (9.895 NQS), with a high score of 9.925 and an average of 9.896
