Kozelsky Named B1G Swimmer of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS – Senior Lindsey Kozelsky has been named the Big Ten Conference Swimmer of the Week for her performance against Purdue and Northwestern this past weekend.
This marks Kozelsky's second Swimmer of the Week award of the season (Nov. 13) and the fifth total Big Ten weekly accolade of her career. The Albert Lea, Minn. native previously received Freshman of the Week honors on two occasions during the 2016-17 season, while also garnering a Swimmer of the Week award on Oct. 30 of last season.
Competing in a Big Ten triple dual over the weekend, Kozelsky came up big for the Gophers as they defeated both Purdue and Northwestern in West Lafayette, Ind. Kozelsky dominated the tri-dual's breaststroke events, winning both the 100 breast (1:00.50) and 200 breast (2:12.87) via a pair of NCAA 'B' cut times.
Kozelsky also secured a runner-up finish in the 50 free (23.65) at the triple dual, while helping Minnesota's 200 free relay team to a second place result (1:34.46) as well.
Now with 13 total honors on the season, the Gophers have already out-performed their recognition from both 2016-17 and 2017-18 and look capable of besting last year's total of 15 weekly awards.
