Former Gopher played in 51 career games
Former University of Minnesota defensive lineman Winston DeLattiboudere announced on Twitter recently that he accepted a graduate assistant coaching position at Charlotte where he will work with the defensive line.Â
The move reunites DeLattiboudere with Marcus West, who is the Assistant Head Coach; Co-Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line coach for the 49ers. West coached DeLattiboudere and the Minnesota defensive line in 2018.Â
"I'm extremely excited to start my coaching career at Charlotte as a graduate assistant," said DeLattiboudere. "I've had inspiration from every particular angle, with Coach Fleck teaching me what it's like to live life as a high caliber leader who appreciates every player on the roster, as well as Coach Rossi and Coach West for showing me the importance of detail, passion, perseverance and family. I'm grateful for my position coaches and teammates who pushed me to be better every day. I am also thankful for the Graduate Assistants and Quality Control Coaches that gave me words of encouragement throughout my career and my decision in beginning this journey. I will carry all of those lessons and memories with me as I start my coaching career with the 49ers"
DeLattiboudere played in 51 career games for the Gophers and finished with 83 tackles (43 solo), 13.5 tackles for loss and five sacks. He was named Academic All-Big Ten in 2019 and was Minnesota's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. He also received the team's 2019 Tony Dungy Character and Community Service Award (great character on and off the field) along with teammate Seth Green.Â
