7/9/2020 10:00:00 AM | Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving

MINNEAPOLIS - The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday their 2020 Scholar All-America Teams, with 23 Gophers earning spots on the academic roster.

Of the 14 members of the women's program to earn the nod, five achieved First Team status by qualifying for the 2019-20 NCAA Championships while maintaining a GPA above a 3.50. Those five include three swimmers in Emily Cook (100 backstroke), Lindsey Kozelsky (100 breaststroke, 200 Breast) and Tevyn Waddell (100 Back, 200 Back, 100 butterfly) and two divers in Jaclynn Fowler (1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard) and Jae Sarkis (3-Meter).

On the men's roster, Max McHugh (100 Breast, 200 Breast) and Duncan Lester (1-Meter) led the nine total honorees as First Team recipients. McHugh owned the top time in the nation in the 100 breast (50.67) going into last season's NCAA Championships and the third-fastest time in the 200 breast (1:51.62),

Second Team honors were awarded to student-athletes who similarly maintained a 3.50 GPA while also achieving an NCAA 'B' cut, or competed at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
