1/23/2021 6:24:00āÆPM | Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving
MINNEAPOLIS ā The Minnesota swimming & diving program opened their 2020-21 season on Saturday, with the women splitting the tri-dual while the men fell to both Wisconsin (135-165) and Purdue (124-176). On the other side, the women defeated Purdue (173-127), but were unable to take down the Badgers (133-163).
"After almost 11 months without racing in the pool or competing on the boards, it was simply great to see our student-athletes have the opportunity to be a team today and do what they love," said head coach Kelly Kremer. "We are all over the map right now in terms of level of preparedness, but at least we have a starting point and a meet under our belt. Back to work on Monday!"

Making her college debut, freshman Indy Jongman sped her way to first place finish in the 50 freestyle, touching in 22.98. Jongman led the Gophers to a one-four-five finish in the event, as Maggie Summit and Bloomer claimed fourth and fifth to round out the scoring. Jongman rounded out her day with a second place finish in the 100 free (49.78).
