Gerads Leads Gophers at B1G Multi-Meet

Allison Gerads finished as pentathlon runner-up at the Illini B1G Multi-Meet on Saturday.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Allison Gerads led the Golden Gopher track & field team as pentathlon runner-up at the Illini B1G Multi-Meet on Saturday.
Gerads scored a career-best 3,827 points on the way to her runner-up showing; she also climbed to sixth on Minnesota's all-time top-10 list for the pentathlon with her career-best score. Gerads finished second in both long jump (5.65m) and high jump (1.67m) and placed third in shot put (11.86m). She was seventh in the 60m hurdles (9.10) and closed out the competition with a career-best time of 2:27.54 in the 800m to secure her overall pentathlon runner-up showing at the meet.
Hannah Arason and Ashley Ramacher also competed in the pentathlon. Arason posted a score of 3,414 points for eighth place, highlighted by a tie for third in high jump (1.64m) and tying for sixth in shot put (10.78m). Ramacher did not finish.
On the men's side, Wyatt Lubarski and Alexander Jung competed in the heptathlon. Lubarski scored a career-high 4,694 points on the way to a fourth-place finish in heptathlon. He recorded career-best marks in shot put (11.69m), pole vault (4.10m), and 1,000m (2:54.55). Jung did not finish.
The Gophers are back in action next weekend, traveling to Lincoln, Neb., for the Husker Quad where they will face competition from host Nebraska, Illinois, and Iowa.
