Minnesota State (5-1-0) began the season with a road series sweep against Merrimack, split a series with UMD in Mankato, and swept Lindenwood at home. The Mavericks have had success putting the puck in the net to start the season as the team has averaged over 4.8 goals per game. Recently, the Mavericks have joined the Gophers in the national polls as the program has been receiving votes. MSU is led by senior Brittyn Fleming (3g-9a), junior Kelsey King (7g-3a), and junior Charlotte Akervik (2g-7a). King was honored as WCHA Forward of the Week on Oct. 11 after scoring four goals against Lindenwood on Friday.

Success Against State
The Gophers and Mavericks are set to square off for the 102nd and 103rd time this weekend. The Gophers lead the all-time series 95-3-3 and currently hold a program-best 50 straight victories against the Mavericks. Under head coach Brad Frost, the Gophers are 60-0-1 against their in-state rivals. The last time the Gophers lost to the Mavericks was on Jan. 20, 2007.
