MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota fifth-year redshirt senior Sarah Bacon has been named the Big Ten Women's Diver of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Competing for the first time this season, Bacon swept both the 1- and 3-meter boards in Friday night's loss to No. 19 Wisconsin.

Bacon started on the 3-meter with a score of 371.78 and then tallied a 334.35 on the 1-meter. Both scores are the highest on the team so far this year.

It's the fourth time in her career that Bacon has been named the Big Ten Diver of the Week, previously earning the distinction twice as a sophomore in the 2017-18 and once last year.

She becomes the sixth Gopher to win the award at least four times. Only Maggie Keefer (15), Yu Zhou (14) and Kelci Bryant (7) have won the award more times in Gophers history, while Tracy Lavoi and Sarah McCrady have also won it four times like Bacon.

Wednesday's announcement comes one day after Bacon was recognized as part of a Gophers trio for the CSCAA's 100 Greatest Swimmers and Divers of the last century.

Bacon's honor is the third for the swimming and diving program as a whole this year as Hannah Cornish was tabbed Freshman of the Week on  Nov. 3 and Jake Butler was named Big Ten Diver of the Week on Oct. 20.
