Preview: Gophers Prepare for Three Day NCAA Zone Diving Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - Four Gophers will be heading to Lexington, Ky. to begin competition at the 2021 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Thursday.
The Zone Championships will be held at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Kentucky, and the event will span across three days from March 11-13.
Over those three days, all four Minnesota student-athletes will attempt to secure their bids to the 2021 NCAA Championships in the 1-meter springboard and 3-meter springboard, while only one will take on the platform event. A full list of the competing divers is below, along with their respective events and season-best scores.
NCAA Diving Zones Qualifiers - Season-Best Scores
Sarah Bacon, R-Sr. - 1-meter (352.20), 3-meter (410.90)
Jake Butler, So. - 1-meter (379.55), 3-meter (412.50)
Duncan Lester, Sr. - 1-meter (314.60), 3-meter (345.75)
Megan Phillip, Fr. - 1-meter (299.35), 3-meter (315.50), platform (239.40)
The women will start the championships off by taking on the 1-meter on Thursday, March 11. They will then move to the 3-meter on Friday, before finishing with the platform on Saturday. The men will begin competition with the 3-meter on day one before taking on the 1-meter on Saturday.
In all preliminary sessions, scores will be carried over into the next segment, with 18 divers advancing into each respective finals session.

As no fans will be allowed in the venue to help ensure the health and safety of all participating student-athletes, a live stream will be provided for all fans to tune in. Links to each day of streaming can be found below with their respective times and dates.
