Gophers Finish Regular Season on a High Note with 5-2 over rival Wisconsin

Minnesota captures a victory in their first home outdoor match of the season.
Minneapolis, MN. - The Gophers closed out their final regular season match with a 5-2 Senior Day win over Wisconsin. Minnesota finishes with a 4-12 record on the season.Â
Doubles Play
The Gophers faltered in doubles play dropping matches at the #1 and #2 positions. River Hart and Zeyneb Sarioglan's match went unfinished at 3-4.Â
Singles Play
The Gophers got off to a hot start in singles play with victories by Dalila Said and Rachel Hanford in straight sets to give the 'U' the lead. Juliet Zhang capped off her final match at Baseline Tennis Center with a convincing 6-2, 6-0 win over Jordana Ossa. Zhang was defeated by Ossa in the season opener in Madison.Â
Ekin Ercetin slammed the door on the Badgers with a 6-4, 6-1 win in the #2 position to clinch the match for the Gophers. River Hart fell in her final match at Baseline Tennis Center 3-6, 4-6 to Charmaine Seah. Lucia de Santa Ana put the cherry on top for the Maroon & Gold with a three set victory to set the final score at 5-2.Â
