Wiskus, McKinney, Bold Named CGA Regular Season All-Americans

A total of three members of the Gopher men's gymnastics team were named as regular season All-Americans the College Gymnastics Association announced on Friday.
Shane Wiskus, Donte McKinney, and Crew Bold were all able to snag the honors, with Wiskus earning the title in five events, while McKinney and Bold both were honored for their work on high bar.
Wiskus has now been named an All-American a total of 14 times in his career with the Maroon & Gold, with this season's five honors being the most he's received in a single season. This also marks the first career All-American honors received by both McKinney and Bold.
Regular season All-American honors were given to the top eight gymnasts in each event based on their Road to Nationals ranking.
Shane Wiskus
The Minnesota-native was able to capture a total of five regular season All-American honors, totaling 14 over the course of his Gopher career. Wiskus appeared in just one meet for the Gophers on the year, where he helped lead the Maroon & Gold to their lone win on the year over Penn State. At the meet, Wiskus earned a total of three event titles along with the all-around title. Wiskus' five All-American honors came in the following events: floor exercise (4th), still rings (7th), parallel bars (T-5th), high bar (3rd), and all-around (3rd).
Donte McKinney
Sophomore Donte McKinney was able to snag his first career All-American title on high bar, following a strong season where he finished ranked No. 5 in the event nationally. After starting his season out strong in the event, earning his lone high bar title of the season with a 13.700 against Iowa, McKinney went on to make the high bar podium in five of the team's six meets on the year.
Crew Bold
Also earning his first career All-American title was fellow sophomore Crew Bold, who finished at No. 7 in the Road to Nationals high bar rankings. Bold had an equally impressive season in the event, earning a pair of event titles and reaching a total of four podium appearances for high bar in the six meet season.
All three of the newly named All-Americans, along with the rest of the Maroon & Gold, will be in action tomorrow night for the Big Ten Championships in Lincoln, Neb. The meet will be available to watch on Big Ten Network starting at 7:00 p.m. CDT.
