Doubles Play
The Gophers faltered in doubles play dropping two doubles matches at the first and third position. Northwestern's top doubles pairing, the #71 ranked duo of Julie Byrne & Briana Crowley, won 6-2 to secure the point for the Wildcats.
Singles Play
Northwestern didn't show any signs of rust in its first match of the tournament. The Wildcats captured the first set in five of six singles matches. Northwestern went on to capture the second set at the 3rd, 4th and 5th singles positions to clinch the 4-0 shutout.
