Big Ten Announces 2021-22 Conference Schedule

The defending Big Ten playoff champions will play a 24-game conference schedule along with 10 nonconference games.
MINNEAPOLIS – With the 101st season of Gopher men's hockey one month away, the Big Ten Conference announced the 2021-22 slate of league games this week.Â
The defending Big Ten tournament champions begin the Big Ten schedule by hosting Notre Dame on Friday, Oct. 29 and Saturday, Oct. 30 before starting the Border Battle in Madison against Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6.Â
A four-game home stand follows for the Maroon & Gold with series against Ohio State on Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13 and Penn State on Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20.Â
The Gophers close out the first half at Michigan on Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4 before hosting Michigan State to start up the second half on Friday, Jan. 7 and Saturday, Jan. 8. The Wolverines make the trek to 3M Arena at Mariucci later in the month with a two-game series on Friday, Jan. 21 and Saturday, Jan. 22 before Minnesota closes out the month at Notre Dame on Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29.Â
The final month of the regular season opens at home against the Spartans on Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5 before a four-game road trip to Ohio State on Friday, Feb. 11 and Saturday, Feb. 12 and Penn State on Friday, Feb. 18 and Saturday, Feb. 19. The Maroon & Gold then close out the regular season with a showdown against the Badgers on home ice on Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26.Â
Minnesota previously announced its 10-game nonconference schedule for the upcoming season with series against Alaska (Oct. 2-3), Mercyhurst (Oct. 8-9), St. Cloud State (Oct. 15-16), Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 22-23) and North Dakota (Nov. 26-27). The Gophers will also host the U.S. National Under-18 Team for an exhibition game at 3M Arena at Mariucci on Monday, Jan. 3.Â
Additional schedule information including game times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date. The 2021-22 Gopher men's hockey schedule is subject to change.Â
