MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota men's and women's cross country teams conclude the 2022 regular season with Rocky's Run on Saturday, October 22, with both the men's and women's competing in a 6K event at Les Bolstad Golf Course.

ABOUT ROCKY'S RUN
Members of the public are invited to join the Gophers for an open 6k race at Les Bolstad on Saturday. Registration is open online and race-day registration will be available as well on Saturday. The entry fee to participate in $20 per person. The competition will begin at 10 a.m. and will be just one race.

Rocky's Run was founded in 1981 to honor former Gopher runner Rochelle "Rocky" Racette, who died in a car accident that fall at the age of 22. While at the University of Minnesota, Racette was an All-American in track & field and cross country and champion of the Big Ten and Drake Relays 5,000-meter titles. The annual race is staged by the many members of the running community who knew and loved her. Racette's legacy lives on through the memory of those who knew her, and through Rocky's Run and the scholarship for which it raises money.

LAST TIME OUT
The University of Minnesota cross country team competed at the 2022 Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison at the Zimmer Championship Course last weekend. True freshman Ali Weimer was the top women's finisher while Emmet Anderson was the top individual for the men.

Weimer, who finished 104th overall in the loaded field that featured 43 ranked teams combined, was the top Big Ten freshman at the event, out pacing five other freshmen. Weimer overall was the seventh-fastest true freshman overall in her 6K time of 20:56.0. The men saw four of their five top finishers post personal best times on Friday with Anderson's 24:43.3 leading the way to finish 186th overall in the 8K event. Noah Kohut-Jackson, brother of former Gopher Abby Kohut-Jackson, had his best showing as a Gopher with a personal best 8K time of 24:47.0 to finish 191st.
